Are you tired of searching for a decent concentrate vaporizer with advanced features? We all want such a product in our drawer, but cannot find it in the market. The DaVinci EQ addresses all these requirements with its premium build, precise smoking mechanism, and cleaner vapors.
The DaVinci EQ is the newest addition to the product line with a unique value that most customers would not have expected from the company. However, the sudden switch from the dry herb vaporizers to cartridge-based devices like ARTIQ meant that DaVinci Tech was exploring the concentrate segment.
Is being a unique device in the product line enough, or has DaVinci Tech missed the trick by introducing the DaVinci EQ? In this article, I will explain my first-hand usage review and will explain how this product adds value to your daily vaping routine. Scroll down to know why the DaVinci EQ is the device to purchase or avoid.
DaVinci EQ Review: First E-Rig โ First Impression
The DaVinci EQโs packaging instantly gave a premium look when I held it in my hand for the first time. The packaging was high-end and heavy to tell in a heartbeat that it contained an expensive vaping device. Moreover, the device was inside the smell-resistant and rugged travel case that kept it safe.
When I held the DaVinci EQ in my hands for the first time, the 520-gram weight felt heavier than what most concentrate devices weighed. It gave a desktop device feel. The crystal clear bubbler and crucible compartment was transparent to enable seeing through the heating system when the device rocked the concentrates. Turning the device on was a whole different experience because I immediately fell in love with the catchy theme and user interface.
The package contained the following accessories:
- 1ร EQ Electric Quartz Base with Touchscreen
- 1x Quartz Atomizer
- 1ร Quartz Crucible

- 1ร Zirconia Carb Cap
- 1x Zirconia Mouthpiece
- 1ร EQ Tool with Holder

Price and value
The DaVinci EQ is available on the official website for $549. At this price range, it competes with premium products from Storz and Bickel. This product offers great value for those people who like carrying e-rigs while they are on the go. The comparatively compact design, no reliance on third-party components, and high-end Vapor quality are the best features. However, a person who demands simple but flavorful smoking sessions should stick to the older DaVinci products because they offer better value for money.
Design and build quality
The DaVinci EQ is a decent-looking device that checks all the build requirements to become the best concentrate smoking vaporizer on the market. The base of the device is made of brushed aluminum, which looks classy and lasts longer than the plastic components. The thing that makes the DaVinci EQ discreet is the jacuzzi bubbler that you need to fill with 60 millilitres of water to cool the vapors. The bubbler is made of quartz and contains a crucible along with a mouthpiece.
The crucible holds around 0.5 to 0.7 grams of concentrate, which is ideal for both on-the-go and desktop usage. The crucible lid and the mouthpiece are made of aerospace zirconia, which is insulated enough to prevent injuries and burns. The quartz and zirconia-dominant build is ideal for flavor-centric smoking. Moreover, the bubbler, crucible, and mouthpiece are easy to replace. The 520-gram weight is not the best for on-the-go smoking, but you have to compromise on something.
Vaping performance
The Vapor quality and production of the DaVinci EQ are elite due to the quartz bubbler and crucible design. The Jacuzzi bubbler requires 60 milliliters of water to filter and cool the vapors in no time. The quartz build and easy replaceability of the heating component and the bubbler ensure that purity remains the priority. All these features enable the production of cool, flavorful, and tasty vapors.
The DaVinci EQ has a heating time ranging from 25 to 150 seconds, while the temperature range starts from 25 degrees and ends at 650 degrees. This range is ideal for ripe concentrate-based vapors, which satisfy taste buds in no time. The temperature intensities are precise, and you can also select from the smart paths comprising terpene, flavor, clouds, and atomic. These smart paths are customizable, so you can select your favorite heat strength with ease.
Battery life and charging
The DaVinci EQ has better battery performance to charging time ratio when compared to the IQ3 and IQC Vaporizers. It has a type C charging port integrated on one side for a refill within 2.5 hours. The charging system is compatible with a 5-volt charging cable. Moreover, the battery is bulkier and more heavy-duty than most concentrate smoking devices on the market.
The body houses two 3000 mah battery components, which make the total capacity 6000 mAh. A fully charged battery has the capacity to serve 50 sessions, which translates to around 3 hours of continuous usage. Other than the battery life, the device supports passthrough charging, so technically, the battery overperforms when you have access to a charging source.
Ease of use
The DaVinci EQ is as simple to use as any other minimalistic concentrate device. However, the only difference is that this device is not as minimalistic when it comes to the overall feature profile. The precise temperature control is the most lovable feature, where we get to set our favorite intensity. Moreover, the four preset smart paths are entirely customisable along with the screen theme.
The on-device touchscreen keeps the handling and settings simple. A touch of the fingertip enables you to tweak everything. The DaVinci EQ has the haptic feedback feature and LED indicators to build a communication bridge between the user and the heating system.
To turn the device on, you need to click the power button five times consecutively. Pressing and holding the power button for two seconds initiates the 45-second heating session. You can extend the session duration by an additional 60 seconds. The DaVinci EQ also houses a five-minute inactivity shutoff mechanism to save the charge.
Safety features
The DaVinci EQ is a safe option for smokers who forget to turn the device off during inactivity. It has a five-minute shutoff timer that ensures minimal battery wastage and no user harm. The bubbler, crucible, and mouthpiece are all airtight and leakage-free to make sure the water does not seep through the components. Other than this, the two-year warranty keeps you financially safe.
Compatibility with e-liquids and pods
You must know, after reading our review till this point, that the DaVinci EQ is compatible with concentrates and waxes. It is one of the best concentrate vaporizers produced by the manufacturer with e-rig functionality. However, it does not have a pod system like the previous models. The DaVinci EQ contains a crucible system that makes loading easy and production of flavorful vapors an inevitable occurrence. You can opt for quartz and zirconia crucibles, which have the same function, but the output is slightly different. The quartz crucible is purer, but the zirconia crucible has better heat retention for longer usage.
Customization options
Is customisability even a question when it comes to the DaVinci EQ? It performs the e-rig function without any torch while maintaining a consistent temperature throughout. You will hardly find a device with an advanced e-rig system for concentrates. The bubbler, crucible, and mouthpiece are all interchangeable to make usage more discreet and tailored.
The customization does not end here. You get smart paths at preset levels, but you can change and lock the intensities according to your smoking requirements. Even the screen themes can be changed for a more personalized color scheme. The 45-second session time is a standard, but you can extend it by 60 seconds for extended heating.
Final verdict: Is it worth buying?
The DaVinci EQ is a very durable device that produces the most flavorful vapors and allows you to customize the settings according to your needs. However, it lags behind other concentrate-based vaporizers in two aspects: the compromised portability and the high price. For me, the DaVinci EQ serves the best vapors, but you can get the same at a fairly affordable price.
If we consider desktop usage, the Storz and Bickel devices are far more value-adding and affordable. Though devices like Volcano Hybrid are touch expensive, they are more heavy-duty to serve a group of people at once. An OG DaVinci user like me should stick to the DaVinci IQ3 and ARTIQ because they have the same flavor profile for at least half the price.
The DaVinci EQ is a value-added vaporizer only for those people who want to carry waterpipes while travelling but cannot find a portable option. Besides this, you should keep using the older models.
