This review will focus on every aspect related to the DaVinci IQ3’s usage. All the claims and complaints will be discussed, as I share my direct usage experience in the article below.

DaVinci IQ3 Review: My First Hand Experience
The DaVinci IQ3 was not much different from the previous models in the product line, as the company has maintained its trademark sleek design and classy build. The body was somewhat bigger than the DaVinci IQC and IQ2, but the difference was not evident.
The body felt smoother than other heavy-duty vaping devices like Mighty Plus and Crafty Plus. The company retained the overall operating procedure where the device had an LED grid on the face and buttons on the side. You can tell straight up that the device is made for parties and fun. I found the following accessories inside the box:
- 1x 21700 Battery
- 1x Zirconia Mouthpiece
- 1x Zirconia Cool Core
- 1x Zirconia 10mm Water Tool Adapter
- 1x 6-ft Type-C Charging Cable
- 1x Extra Pick Tool
- 1x Stainless Steel Handled Brush
- 1x Stainless Steel Dosage Pod
- 1x Extract Kit
- 3x Alcohol Cleaning Wipes
- 2x DaVinci Stickers 1x Owner’s Manual
- 1x Registration Card
Pros
- Classy and metal-tested aluminum body
- Zirconia airpath for flavorful vapors
- 0.7 grams chamber capacity for longer sessions
- 30 seconds short heating time
- Replaceable batteries for extended smoking
- Air dial for airflow adjustments
- Physical and mobile app controllability
- LED grid and haptic feedback
Cons
- Short battery life
- Long charging time despite the USB-C port
- Smart paths can be tricky to understand
Ergonomics, design, and build quality
The DaVinci IQ3 comes in premium color options, which give it a decent look for people demanding elegance. You can purchase it in onyx, sapphire, gun metal, and amethyst colors. The body is entirely made of heavy metal tested and aircraft-grade brushed aluminum. The body is hard and durable, unlike other cheaper substitutes.
The slim body makes this device easily slidable inside the pocket, and the edges are smooth enough for a comfortable grip. The DaVinci IQ3 is 9.2 centimeters long and weighs around 160 grams. The weight is astounding, considering the metallic build and heavy-duty zirconia airpath.
Performance & vaping experience
The DaVinci IQ3 is one of those rare devices that emphasize more on cooling the vapors and making them more enjoyable. This device has a short heating time of around 30 seconds, which goes on to show the efficiency of the heating system. The trademark Cool Core technology helps cool the vapors by 54%. I loved the elegance and smoothness of every batch. The consistency was admirable, since the XL air dial enabled air flow adjustment throughout the smoking session.
The heating chamber is another highlight where you find sufficient space to fit 0.7 grams of dry herbs. The company provides dosage capsules with a 0.2-gram capacity to enable easy carriage and microdosing. I loved the DaVinci IQ3, its consistent airflow and ripe vapors. The taste did not impair throughout the smoking session (as I encountered no metallic taste at high temperatures). The zirconia airpath preserves every bit of goodness and does not overheat the vapors while it is traveling to the mouthpiece.
On top of all these features, the heating system has the capacity to heat dry herbs and concentrates from zero degrees to 221 degrees. These temperature intensities are good enough for dry herbs, but I found them lacking while smoking concentrates. The concentrates were half-cooked and made a mess inside the heating chamber. Smoking concentrates on the DaVinci IQ3, making cleaning difficult.
Battery, charging & power management
Like other vaporizers from DaVinci, the IQ3 has a removable battery, which is actually a 21700 cell packed with sufficient power to let you smoke for 90 minutes straight. Apart from replaceability, the DaVinci IQ3’s battery is rechargeable. These features allow you to smoke for long durations, but the battery is not as long-lasting as the DaVinci IQC. A major turn off for me is the 3 hours long charging time, despite the USB-C technology. I rarely carry an extra set of batteries, so I had to wait long hours before smoking again.
Ease of use
The DaVinci IQ3 is a fairly easy device to get along with if you have previously used any product in this product line. The operating procedure is similar. The standout feature for me is the trademark LED grid that tells the temperature levels and communicates other important information. The mobile app has several handy features, like the dosage control safety function that helps keep you sober.
Other than this, the vibration controls are an effective way to know what the device is trying to tell. It lets you know when the vapors are ready to smoke. The four smart paths are accessible via a mobile app, but those require some prior knowledge to make sure that you extract the entire goodness from the smoking material.
Safety, reliability, and build integrity
The DaVinci IQ3 is a safe device to use because it is integrated with a dosage control feature. Other than this, all the components are leakage-proof and emit no harmful substances that can contaminate the dry herbs. The body is made of aircraft-grade aluminum, which is heavy metal tested to make sure that it is safe for you. Every component carries a 10-year warranty for underperformance and quality issues.
Compatibility and flexibility
I have always been a DaVinci lover for its compatibility and flexibility. The DaVinci IQ3 is no exception to this rule. It is compatible with dry herbs and concentrates. However, I still believe that the DaVinci product line is better for dry herbs than the concentrates. The concentrates make the oven messy, while the temperature intensities are not high enough to cook oils.
Other than this, the DaVinci IQ3 has a combination of physical and mobile app controls. You can select your favorite setting at one-degree increments while using the on-device buttons and opt for the right smart path option via the mobile app. The overall compatibility and flexibility are never an issue with this device.
Comparisons and alternatives
The DaVinci IQ3 has many alternatives, where the DaVinci IQ2 and IQC are the nearest substitutes, as they have more or less the same features. It outshines the preceding products due to a perfect balance between the heating efficiency and 54% cooling.
When considering the price range, you will find Pax vaporizers more affordable, but the vapor quality is not as premium as the DaVinci IQ3. Pax devices are prone to a metallic taste, which you will never experience while using your IQ3. Other than this, Storz and Bickel products are a tad more expensive than this device, but they are not as aesthetically pleasing and slim enough to carry conveniently.
Pricing, value, and long-term cost
The DaVinci IQ3 is one of the most premium portable vaporizers available on the market. You can purchase it from the official website for $299. I cannot call it affordable since you can find several simpler and cheaper options on the internet for well less than $100.
However, a high price does not mean that the product has no value for the user. I genuinely like the DaVinci IQ3 for its design, control, and heating efficiency. Moreover, this device is compatible with dry herbs. This means that you do not need to spend money on cartridges and pod systems. The overall cost is justified.
User sentiment & community feedback
The majority of the comments on platforms like Reddit and YouTube complained that the DaVinci IQ3 lacked battery performance and charging efficiency. The vapor consistency and taste were not questioned on any platform. However, I have tested the device to check if the device really performs up to the mark. After my first-hand experience, I can conclude that the complaints on the internet are correct because the battery life and charging time are awful. I would suggest using an extra set of batteries to cover up this flaw.
Conclusion
The DaVinci IQ3 is one of the best vaporizers to use if you want to try out a premium device for the first time. It is not as expensive as the Storz and Bickel products. The value on offer is as good as any other decent device that promises flavorful vapors.
I loved the DaVinci IQ3 for its efficient heating system and equally effective cooling system. The battery life and charging time are one of the biggest drawbacks, but you can overcome them by carrying an extra set of batteries.
This product is a handy companion for parties where you have to carry classy vaporizers. However, I would not suggest switching to the DaVinci IQ3 if you already have a preceding model. It is surely better than the DaVinci IQ2 (in terms of cooling and battery features), but the DaVinci IQC is somewhat similar to the DaVinci IQ3.
