PAX 4 Review 2026 – Why PAX 4 is better than PAX 3?

Are you a fan of Pax Labs vaporizers but did not like the minute improvements in the Pax Mini? Or were you impressed by the Pax Flow’s hybrid heating mechanism, and its performance raised your expectations? No matter which one of the Pax users you are, the newly launched Pax Four Vaporizer will satisfy your taste buds in the most convenient way possible.

After the success of the Pax Flow Vaporizer, Pax Labs decided to take the same hybrid heating mechanism and merge it with an advanced set of features. This combination has actually worked, as many people have been talking about the device on the internet. The ongoing discussions and speculations have compelled me to review the Pax Four Vaporizer.

Pax Four Review – Why I LOVE It?

The Pax Four Vaporizer felt like a premium device when I unboxed it for the first time. The packaging was great, and it included the following accessories:

  1. The Pax Four device
  2. A multi-tool to remove the oven screen
  3. A set of three oven screens
  4. A wire brush
  5. A flat and a raised mouthpiece
  6. USB-C charging cable

While accessories felt sufficient for daily use, I liked the textured feel that was not as smooth as the previous models. Moreover, the Pax Four Vaporizer was heavier and slightly bigger. The difference is not inconvenient or undesirable, but an old Pax Labs customer might feel it instantly. I loved the fact that the manufacturer has retained the magnetic oven lid, and the chamber design was changed to that of a funnel. Seeing a USB-C port on the side of the device meant that the product was rechargeable using the most common power source.

Pros

  1. Compact size and durable build.
  2. Easy to toggle the temperature intensities.
  3. Decent chamber capacity with improved funnel-shaped walls for easier loading.
  4. 50% denser clouds than the previous models.
  5. USB-C charging technology for better battery management.
  6. Decent value for money.
  7. Simple single-button operating mechanism.
  8. Foolproof safety features to avoid the risk of injuries.
  9. Comes with a two-year warranty.

Cons

  1. No concentrate insert compatibility.
  2. No mobile app control available.
  3. No precise temperature settings for experienced smokers.
  4. No prominent LED screen to monitor important stats.

Price and Value

The Pax Four Vaporizer offers solid value for money when it is compared to the older models in the product line. As compared to the Pax Mini and Pax Plus, it has type-C charging port and a hybrid heating system. You get a decent upgrade from the conduction heater to a more advanced technology that is definitely worth spending the extra cash. However, other products like DaVinci IQ3 and IQC perform better in the longer term.

Design and Build Quality

The Pax Four Vaporizer is similar to the other devices in the product line. The same classy and minimalist design with easy controls to make your smoking sessions enjoyable. Coming in greenstone and onyx, the color options are limited but attractive enough to catch everyone’s attention. It is small and handy for people preferring on the go usage. The 4.25-inch body is made of high-quality aluminum. The body is textured and smooth.

I like the fact that the internal components, such as the heating element, are made of stainless steel. The steel surface aids the heating process and maintains a formidable and consistent temperature throughout the session. The mouthpiece is made of food-grade silicone and comes in flat & raised forms to enable smoking on your own terms. The build is decent. It offers exceptional comfort, a premium feel, and the much-needed user safety with insulation.

Vaping performance

The Pax Four Vaporizer has always been criticized for a metallic taste due to excessive conduction heating. However, the manufacturer has overcome the majority of this flaw with the convection technology that blows warm air through the material for a better flavor profile. The introduction of convection technology not only reduces the burns but also produces 50% denser clouds than the previous models in the product list.

The redesigned oven makes loading & cleaning simpler and fits around 0.3 grams of dry herbs. The move from the conduction-dominant heating system to hybrid technology has increased the heating time to 55 seconds. Though the Pax Four Vaporizer is slower than the Pax Flow and Pax Mini Vaporizers, it is worth the wait due to superlative flavor and Vapor density in the product line.

The flavor and density depend entirely on the temperature intensity selected. You can opt for the four preset options comprising:

  1. Purple (190 degrees Celsius) – lightest vapor density with prominent flavor
  2. Green (200 degrees Celsius) – denser vapors with decent flavor for continuous smoking
  3. Yellow (210 degrees Celsius) – thick and prominent vapors that carry quickly perishing flavor
  4. Red (220 degrees Celsius) – densest vapors with maximum extraction but less prominent flavor.

Battery Life and Charging

The Pax Four Vaporizer has a battery life that lasts for only 5 sessions, which roughly translates to 50 minutes of running time per charging cycle. The limited battery life is understandable as the device has a compact size that easily fits in your hand.

A USB-C charging port is integrated on the side of the device to enable faster charging. The USB-C charging port is better than the magnetic charger because you can find a Type-C cable anywhere to charge the Pax Four Vaporizer. The charging port is integrated on the side of the device to make sure that it lies on the table while the battery is filling up. Moreover, the charging time is 100 minutes, and you have to get along with it because the battery is internal and non-removable.

Ease of Use

The Pax Four Vaporizer is a very simple device to use because of its single-button control. It might give you a tough time due to the absence of a prominent screen for temperature setting and a battery status indicator. However, it gets very convenient after you get along with the overall usage pattern. The front of the device has four petal-shaped indicators that communicate the temperature settings with their changing colors, and the battery life when it is too low to use.

Press and hold the power button for two seconds to turn the device on or off. You can toggle the temperature intensities by single pressing the power button, while a shake will let you know the remaining battery via the LED indicators. The chamber has been redesigned to not only allow the warm air to flow through the herbs but also enable easier loading. The walls are shaped like a funnel to make sure that every piece of dry herb makes its way into the chamber.

Cleaning the Pax Four Vaporizer is hassle-free because it requires no extensive assembly. You will need a cotton swab to clean and wipe off the residue from the walls of the oven. The multitool helps take off the screen for a dip in an alcohol solution. The wire brush is a decent accessory to thoroughly clean the airpath.

Safety Features

The Pax Four Vaporizer has a great safety mechanism to prevent uninvited injuries. The device auto shuts off when it reaches 55 degrees Celsius internally to prevent an electric malfunction. It enters standby mode after inactivity of 30 seconds and turns off entirely when no activity is sensed for another 30 seconds. The temperature tracking is real-time to make sure that the Pax Four Vaporizer does not overheat like the previous models.

The haptic feedback is another simple yet important feature that lets you know when the device is ready to use and when it is shutting off. The airpath is isolated to keep the vapors fresh and pure throughout the smoking sessions. The medical-grade silicone mouthpiece keeps it insulated and healthy at higher temperatures. Overall, the Pax Four Vaporizer is a safe choice for smokers.

Compatibility with E-Liquids or Pods

The Pax Four Vaporizer is not compatible with e-liquids, waxes, or vape juices. Using these materials can damage the heating system and the internal components. Moreover, such damage is not claimable under the warranty offered by the manufacturer. The same goes for pods. The chamber is uniquely designed (like a funnel), which makes the Pax Four Vaporizer incompatible with the traditional concentrate inserts.

Customization Option

While I’m not a big fan of customization options usually offered by the Pax Labs devices, the Pax Four Vaporizer has almost the same features as the preceding devices in the product line. It comes with preset temperature intensities to enable customization of flavor and density. However, precise temperature intensities would have been a far better feature on hand.

The equipment and accessories are adequately customisable, where you get to choose between flat and raised mouthpieces at your will. Other than this, you can purchase a grip sleeve from the online store to make your device more discreet. A half oven lid can be used to pack the smaller quantities of dry herbs for microdosing.

Final Verdict

Is the Pax Four Vaporizer really worth purchasing? Well, you should definitely go for it if you are a loyal Pax Labs customer. It is a decent update as it has a faster charging mechanism, especially a Type-C charging port that is compatible with almost all the cables that you would have at home. The hybrid heating system deals with the burning flavor issue and produces denser vapors.

On the contrary, I would prefer DaVinci IQ3 and IQC as they offer a better long-term value in the same price range. These products have removable batteries, remote controllability, and precise temperatures. However, I do not find the DaVinci products as handy and portable as the Pax Four Vaporizer. Purchasing the Pax Four Vaporizer is definitely a debatable topic, so assess your needs before making the final call.
