As I said earlier, the Pax Plus Vaporizer comes in two different packages. The standard kit is available on the official website for $160. It is ideal for flowers and dry herbs only. However, you have to spend $200 to purchase the entire kit. The complete kit includes accessories meant for both dry herb and concentrate smoking. The accessories that you get for the additional $40 are worth $95. Technically speaking, the complete kit helps you save $55. Moreover, you can get your Pax Plus Vaporizer personalized for $20. 

Design & Build Quality 

The Pax Plus Vaporizer is an approximately 4-inch high device that is highly compact for portable usage. I have always been a fan of Pax Labs products due to their sleek but minimalistic design. The body is entirely metallic, so consider it durable like any premium product in the market. 

The manufacturer has integrated some simple features that give a high-end feel. The magnetic oven lid effortlessly snaps into place. The lip-sensing technology automatically detects an upcoming draw. Discrete technology is not limited to these components only.

The 3D oven screen makes loading, unloading, and cleaning a lot easier than the previous models. I received three additional 3D oven screens in the complete kit. However, I enjoyed using the half-pack oven lid for microdosing. Pax Labs provides a 10-year warranty on every component, so purchasing the Pax Plus Vaporizer is a safe option. 

Vaping Performance

The heating oven of the Pax Plus Vaporizer has a 0.5-gram capacity that can be reduced to 0.25-gram by using the half-pack oven lid. A batch takes 22 seconds to get ready for you to smoke. The conduction heating technology prepares ripe vapors, but the direct heat impairs the flavor a bit. My vapors had a hint of metallic taste. 

Other than this, the concentrate insert is a valuable component to smoke waxes and extracts. You get four experience modes to select from, including stealth, efficiency, flavor, and boost. The boost mode produces the densest clouds but I found it lacking for concentrates. The solid hit is not there if you are considering smoking waxes. Moreover, the Pax Plus Vaporizer has lip-sensing technology that activates automatically when you bring it closer to your mouth. 

Battery Life & Charging 

The Pax Plus Vaporizer has impressive power stats where it provides a battery backup of two hours (which is roughly 8 to 10 sessions). Installation of a 3000 mAh battery in such a compact device is astonishing. 

The recharge time is decent, as you can refill the battery within 90 minutes. The magnetic charger connected is somehow at par with most USB-C devices. The magnetic charging port on the back of the device is accessible.

Ease Of Use 

The Pax Plus Vaporizer is a pretty simple device to use since it has a single button to control everything. The new experience modes are prominently discrete. The stealth mode produces the least amount of vapors while maintaining the dim lights with vibration. The efficiency mode preserves battery life while maintaining optimal vapor production. 

The flavor mode is ideal for producing flavorful on-demand vapors to enjoy terps. The boost mode is for bigger clouds and an ideal intensity for concentrates. You need to fill the chamber and click the mouthpiece to turn on the device. Once the ‘X’ lights up on the face of the device, you can start smoking.

Selecting the intensities is easier than you might think. You need to long-press the button to enter the heat intensity menu. Quick press the button to toggle the intensities. Once the right intensity is reached, long press the power button or shake the device to lock in. Moreover, the 3D oven screen is easier to clean than the previous oven screen designs.

When considering dry herb compatibility, this device can compete with most premium devices. However, the temperature intensities are not ideal for concentrates. The concentrate insert enables cooking waxes consistently.

The price is not as high as other premium products on the internet. I recommend purchasing the complete kit because it provides a better value for the money.
