Puffco Proxy Ripple Review
The packaging of the device is a treat for those who like thoughtful packaging. The box is well crafted and ensures that the product arrives in perfect condition. The minimal and sophisticated branding further raises the expectations about the product. As you open the lid to reveal the product, you see the elegantly designed piece inside the box. The box does not come with a Proxy base unit and a cap. However, the quality of the glasswork and the design of the device quickly set a premium tone.
As soon as I held the product, it felt very light weight. The weight was very well distributed that ensured the stability of device. The ripple design at the base was an aesthetic choice. It added to the grip and texture of the device that made the handling effortless. The glass itself felt robust and has a smooth finish. The device is available in two colors i.e., Sea and Sage. Hence, the price caters the needs of those who like a simple and refined look
Pros:
- Aesthetic design: The ripple base design enhances the elegance and provides stability.
- Splash-back Reduction: Well-placed holes to ensure smooth hit reducing splash-back.
- Sturdy: Low center of gravity keeps it secure on any surface.
- Easy to Clean: Streamlined design to make cleaning hassle free.
Cons:
- Base and cap are sold separately
- Limited choice for colors
- Not ideal for travelling
Price and Value:
The device is positioned as a premium accessory. It does not come with the Proxy Base unit and cap. The price is justified due to the high quality borosilicate glass, the design and splash resistant filtration system. When being compared to the other similar devices, the Proxy Ripple offers a great mix of aesthetics, stability and performance. However, some potential buyers should consider the additional cost of required components. Still it is a better investment for those already using the Proxy system.
